life lately
My next book is due to my editor in less than a month, which means my brain has decided now is the perfect time to start twenty new projects. One of them is revamping my newsletter.
So: new look, new content. And I figured we could kick things off with a “life lately” update before I get to share something really fun with you very, very soon.
One book I’m currently reading, one I’ve recently finished, and one I’m excited to get to:
Between Two Fires encompasses three of my biggest obsessions: books, medieval Europe, and the Plague. That last one sounded extremely bizarre, I’m aware, but I’ve been fascinated by that specific chapter of history for ages. I’ve watched possibly every documentary and YouTube video there is about it, to the point where I knew more than my teachers back in college (yes, we studied the Plague in my Translation and Interpreting BA for some reason). Being fascinated by the Plague doesn’t make much sense considering I struggle with trypophobia, but I’m nothing if not a walking contradiction. Anyway - I’m around 70% in and really enjoying the horror aspect of BTF so far.
I recently finished My Husband’s Wife and really enjoyed it, but here’s the thing: for some reason, I always guess the main plot twist in every thriller I read or watch. I can almost always tell who the bad guy is because something about the way that particular character is written gives it away to me. That’s not to say this is a bad thriller, because it isn’t! It kept me hooked the entire time and made me second-guess myself, so I very much recommend it if thrillers are your thing.
Lastly, I don’t remember who first recommendedThe House in the Cerulean Sea to me ages ago but, for some reason, I never picked it up. Lately it keeps showing up in my recommendations, so I’m taking it as a sign. Have you read it?
Some songs that have been on repeat while I write:
Wicked Game - Chris Isaak
The Winner Takes It All (Meryl Streep’s version)
A New Day Has Come - Céline Dion
Silver Springs - Fleetwood Mac (this has gone platinum in my house this week)
Wuthering Heights - Kate Bush
I’m an oldies kind of gal.
Every Wednesday, I tune in to watch the final season of The Boys, which - is it just me, or does the writing feel a little sloppy this season? Don’t get me wrong, I’m still eating it up, but something feels… off. Not plot-wise, but more in the way some scenes are constructed and how certain dialogue flows. Or maybe it’s just me! Either way, PLEASE watch this show.
I’m also halfway through If Wishes Could Kill, a South Korean horror show about five high school friends who download a mysterious wish-granting app that kills them in return. South Korea knows how to make entertaining and unique television, that’s for sure. If you haven’t watched any K-Dramas yet, you’re missing out. Especially the romance ones. The slow burn BURNS, I’ll just say that.
Mostly, though, I just watch YouTube when I have some free time. Mainly Watcher (Ryan and Shane ftw), antphrodite, Bella Fiori, Between My Clothes (Spanish content creator) and Mimi XXL (also Spanish). I owe every single one of them my peace of mind after a long day.
Am I a gaming girlie? No.
Do I currently have an unhealthy obsession with Tomodachi Life? I DO!
The last time I played a video game was Among Us in 2021, which I also developed an unhealthy obsession with. But now Nintendo has come along with this absolute gem and, after my boyfriend and I watched some gameplay videos, I couldn’t resist and bought it.
I’ve only been playing for a week, but my island (which I redesigned and looks super cute now) already has 15 residents, including CEO and Y/N. I’m having the time of my life. Please look into this game and thank me later.
My writing schedule is PACKED this year:
I’m deep in self-edits for book 2 right now before it goes to my editor at the beginning of June.
By May 15, those edits need to be finished so I can move on to editing book 3, which is also due to my editor this summer.
And somewhere in between both books, I’m supposed to start writing my 2028 release. If only I could choose between two exciting but widly different ideas :)))))
Send help.
As a reward for reading this far, here’s a little gift aka an unedited quote from Harmony Hills #2:
Past and present clash and melt into one until I’m consumed by the echoes of what we could have been in a different life.

Until now, I’ve only used my Instagram to talk about my books. Because that’s my job, and I’m not an influencer, and honestly I only want people to follow me for my books and not for my life.
But lately, I’ve been toying with the idea of sharing some behind-the-scenes content. Photo dumps, maybe? Journal-style posts? Not all the time, because my life is genuinely not that interesting, but occasionally.
The only thing holding me back is that I keep thinking people won’t care, so why bother when I already have so much to do? But at the same time, I do want you to get to know me better, and I want to feel a little closer to my audience. It’s a whole ongoing debate between me and myself lol. Opinions are welcome!
I’m really looking forward to the many signings I have coming up in Spain this year. There’s a pinned post on my Instagram with all the info you might need if you want to check it out.
Here’s a quick photo recap of the first one!
Thank you for reading this far. Expect a far more exciting newsletter from me very soon ♡

And whatever behind-the-scenes content/photo dumbs you’d like to share, I would care!
